I started on this painting about six months ago, just before I headed to Hong Kong. I never got to finish it before I left. So when I returned home last week, I pulled it out of cold storage, and managed to finish it and present it to Kenneth, who got me started on this painting. It's the first man that I've painted in my usual style. If you've seen my earlier works, you'll know that women have always been the subjects.
Kenneth is my best mate when it comes to appraising eye-candy, and he and I have a few types that we go weak in the knees for. A handsome face is usually a factor (but you have to know our definition of "handsome"....), and confidence is key. But superficially speaking, the perfect package is well-groomed, dressed sharply in a crisp white shirt and a smart dark jacket, in jeans that hint at nice legs and a perky butt. Oh, and the shoes tell you a lot about the guy, but hey that will take like an entire blog to explain.... To top it all off - he should be drinking a whisky (our fav poison), and harbouring an interesting background *swoon*. Ha ha what a fantasy. I can imagine it now - at a swanky cocktail event, a guy like that walks up to me...and then I become speechless, turn stupid, and then wish for a crack to open up in the ground for me to jump into.
Well. And so, I present to you a quick summary of my many visual adventures and imaginings - "My favorite cocktail - whisky and a flowery past". (Dimensions: 36" X 24" x 2", Medium: acrylic/mixed media )
